Victim: Charles Dennis McKee
Major Charles (Chuck) Dennis McKee, born December 3, 1948, was an intelligence officer with the Defense Intelligence Agency stationed in Beirut, Lebanon. Chuck spent the last ten years of an eighteen-year military career abroad. He was the recipient of numerous military merit awards including the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Overseas Service Medal. He was survived by his mother Beulah, his daughter Aimee, and his two sisters Marjorie and Nancy. He was predeceased by his father and his sister Patti.
Chuck was affectionately known as "Tiny" because of his height and bulk, 6'5" and 270 pounds. Chuck was an extraordinary man who was described as having "the right stuff." He spoke fluent Arabic and finished as the top of his class at least four times in the process of acquiring highly specialized intelligence training. He graduated first in his class in officers' training school at Fort Benning in Georgia. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1970 and entered the service in November of that same year.
