Victim: Daniel Emmett O'Connor
Daniel O'Connor had been living in Nicosia, Cyprus since early 1988, but was originally from Dorchester, Massachusetts. Daniel was working as a security officer for the American Embassy and was praised by State Department officials for his skill and commitment. He rose rapidly within the embassy security division and was noted for his skill at designing bug-proof embassies. Daniel received his degree in engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology and during his time at Turner Construction he was assistant superintendent for the work on the new wing at the Boston Globe plant. He joined the embassy security division out of a sense of adventure and because he was a patriotic individual. Daniel was survived by his parents, Daniel and Helen, and his three sisters. He was traveling home for the Christmas holiday.
